THE STORY BEHIND THE MOTIF
"Waldsäulen" (Forest Columns) is one of the quietest motifs in the collection. It doesn't depict the forest as a scene full of movement, but as a calm stand that provides stability to the gaze. Four upright trees are enough to convey a sense of space, order, and tranquility. The motif suits days when less imagery is already enough.
